Hi,
New here so please be nice to me.
I'm currently pregnant with my third child and having to go through the the normal diabetes check to test for gestinational diabetes. (Which I've never had in previous pregnancy)
This test is not usually done, it's because both my dad and sister have type 1 diabetes and I'm above the normal bmi.

For the test I have to starve for 12 hours over night and then 2 hours before a blood test, drink 410ml of Lucozade.
Both my dad and sister carry a bottle of this around with them as it's the quickest thing to get them out of a hypo, but now they are changing the sugar glucose content from 25% to 11%. Any advice as to what they can drink as a substitute?

Just like to say welcome to the forum I'm not sure about lucozade I always carry glucose tablets or jelly babies they always work for me keep looking someone will advise on lucozade good luck with everything.

You can still drink lucozade just you have to drink a little more than you had to due to the reduction in the sugar they use so you can still use it as I do if I am having a hypo and need a quick burst of sugar to fetch me around and it is around 3/4 of the bottle you need for the same amount of sugar you used to get which is 270 ml of the bottle you need as you would need a quater of the bottle before they changed it and I use dextrogel and I get that from the doctors on prescription and your family can get them that way instead of a bottle of lucozade and I also use glucose tablets
