Lump after bloods taken

Hi

I had bloods taken last week and have a large bruise but also a larger than pea sized lump in my right arm, at the elbow crease. Is this normal and will it go away?

Do often bruise when having bloods taken but never been left with a lump.

I've had a small lump before (the size of a large ball bearing). It's only happened once. My lump went away over a week or so.

If it was me, I'd keep an eye on it and if it continued to concern me, I'd phone or visit my GP surgery just for reassurance.

Sounds like a haematoma. It usually occurs if you haven't pressed hard enough and long enough on the site where the needle went in. Blood leaks into the tissues and form a small lump. It's more common in people on anticoagulants. It should clear up in a few days.
