...In another life i would have been from Hampshire, all my three brothers were, i was dropped out in Salford. I'd like to know where the best spot in 2017 would be to view the next solar eclipse, i don't want to miss out next time, i think i'll be 50 that year, eeek!!!!

lol. I have lived here since 1968 and the countryside is just on the doorstep, I love it. But, I was born in magnificent Manchester, then parents moved back to Scotland, but I have always classed myself as Scottish with my ancestry, and even my names are traditionally Scottish . Haven't been to Manchester since I was a young teenager, maybe one day I am looking forward to 2017 
... although, naturally, it's now bright and sunny with not a cloud in the sky. Grrrr...........

Manchester is not called the rainy city for nothing. My clan is Scottish too Aberdeen way. Scottish roots are the deepest ayeeeee.
I watched it on Sky News, they didn't keep going back to the presenters like BBC. They seemed to think we'd be more interested in Brian Cox and Dara O'Briain instead of what was going on up there. Can't remember the dates, but theres an eclipse visible accross USA, then the Aussie one, and one across Africa. I've always fancied going to Zanzibar so could be a good excuse.Idiot reporter on BBC1 news just now suggested that shadows had got longer during the eclipse
