Could someone look at this and try to explain to me what might be going on. I am looking for a food I can eat for breakfast. Most things spike me too high anyway these are my last two days readings
fasting 8am 7.7 had breakfast then 2 hours later at 10am BS is 10 then before lunch at 12.45pm 9.4 had lunch then at 5.30 reading before dinner 6.1 had dinner and reading at 8.30 was 7.8.(after my tablet) The strange thing is about those reading 10 at 10.00am then 9.4 at 12.45pm that is 2 and threequarter hours later, shouldn't I have moved down a bit..
Today fasting 7.30am 7.7 breakfast 8.30 9.1 and 9.30 8.4 now I had nothing else to eat not even a cup of tea and at 1.30pm before lunch it is 9.4 again 4 hours later I dont seem to have gone down. Am I leaving gaps in meals too long and something is happening it was 6 hours between breakfast and lunch. I seem to be having a surge or is it just the variances of the meter is 1point within its tolerances? or should I have drank water or something, I was gardening. A little bit of technical know how might help here if anyone has any suggestions about what is going on, I take my metformin 500 SR tablet once with dinner at night. The other thing I have noticed is the difference between one finger tip and another can be a point too, why is that?

If you eat nothing for breakfast then I found the DP level you wake up with tends to slosh around until you do eat at lunchtime but like you if I eat anything significant at breakfast I spike so what to do?

When I started I found eating a small quantity of yoghurt and berries worked for me and I do mean small so around 4 to 6 teaspoons of plain yoghurt mixed with say 4 smallish defrosted strawberries. In totals around 5 - 8g of carbs but its pretty fast acting because of the sugar in the fruit. Then go for a brief but fast 10 minute walk around the block. That combination would get my system up and running and my BG's lowered by 11.00am most days.

Nowadays do a 40g + 10g mix of plain Greek and strawberry yoghurt + 15 g of "berries". If I wake up above 6.0 will do the walk come rain or shine but below that its optional depending on how busy, the weather etc.

How are your levels doing at other times of the day?

Personally I've found that only a protein breakfast keeps me steady (UNLESS I inject, which I don't want to do as I'm only having carbs in the evening at the mo).

I've found jewish beef sausages really good, you can buy them precooked and just takes a minute in the microwave, or can eat straight from the pack.

Alternatively ham and cheese roll ups, or eggs wrapped in salami.

If you don't have to travel somewhere in the morning you have a much greater choice of cooked breakfast options.

Bacon cheese and mushrooms always a winner in my book.

By doing this my levels stay pretty steady around the 6/7 mark til lunch

Good luck!
