Hi Guys,
Just a quick plug to get signatures for a petition that needs to get to 100,000 by the 20th Dec!
It’s for Lyla’s Law to be discussed. It’s basically trying to make it mandatory to test for diabetes if people present with extreme thirst, tiredness, toileting more than usual, thinner. Unfortunately, this little girl was misdiagnosed with tonsillitis and it was too late to save her and she lost her life due to misdiagnosis. Those hours are crucial when diagnosing, no one wants to suffer severe DKA, but to be misdiagnosed, it cost her life.
This story sits with me because I was also misdiagnosed, the GP did not want to test for diabetes, even when I pointed out my symptoms. I was dismissed are 4 occasions before being admitted to ITU with severe DKA.
Let’s help save a life and help get this petition across the line.
