HI IS ANYBODY TAKING LYXUMIA, IMAY BE GETTING PUT ON IT AND I WONDERED WHAT EXPERIENCES PEOPLE WERE HAVING WITH IT.

After three years of getting nowhere with diet and oral medication (mainly because of the nasty side effects to be perfectly honest) I am in my third week of using Lyxumia. And wow what a difference it has made to my BG's and overall wellbeing. I initially had nausea for the first 4 mornings with the 10mcg dose, which you take for the first two weeks. I then went onto the higher dose of 20mcg. That gave me nausea and diarrhoea for the first 5 mornings, but it then stopped.

My BG's have gone from being mid 8s to high 16s every day to mid 6s to mid 9s and I feel great! My biggest problem was needle phobia and had been avoiding injecting for a while. My DSN offered me this as an alternative and went through injecting with me, etc. I am able to cope with and am ok with it. This is coming from someone that would get hysterical and go unconscious at even the notion of a needle a couple of years ago.

If you are offered it, I would recommend it. The added bonus is it is only one injection a day!

Started Lyxumia 4 days ago after being on Victoza for 5 months (stopped due to feeling very sick for much of that time, although BS were very good, no weight loss though).
Half a dose of Lyxumia to start with left me feeling very nauseas, with a mild headache and feeling very tired, BS gone from 4s to 9s on pretty much same food and exercise.
It's supposed to take up to two weeks to start being effective so I will post again then.

Peter
