Bundaberg has large Macadamia plantations, so able to get the raw in the shell ones at a cheap price at the Sunday markets. Less than $20.00 Kg. most times we have seen them.
In the shops they are expensive to buy here as well.
I do not mind sitting down with my cracking mat and a Gympie hammer to break the shells.
