Whilst my blood levels have been under control, my RA isn’t under control and is wreaking havoc with my body including my eyes. I’m wondering whether anyone else has any experience with diabetic maculopathy & RA? It was a shock to hear that I needed more tests for my eyes!

Sorry to hear your RA isn't under control, hope you feel better soon.

I don't have RA but have Polymyalgia Rheumatica. My sugars are good and I am in remission with hba1c of 40 but suddenly have been diagnosed with diabetic macular oedema. I wonder if this could be due to the inflammation from PMR. I have started anti vegf injections, had my first one and next one due on Wednesday.

People with RA and other rheumatoid disorders may sometimes experience symptoms from the eyes in the form of potentially serious inflammations, which could also cause macular oedema. The treatment is then different.
I would love to hear what they conclude after the examination!
Hope you're doing all right.
