Well, I'm back from my holidays so am ready to start trying to control my diabetes instead of it controlling me! 8)
My sugar levels were off the wall at the end of my holiday but I came back determined to give the low carbs a go. I work in a surgery and was talking to the 'diabetic' nurse who was 'dismayed' at my suggestion and insisted I should still eat carbs with every meal. However, since I came back I have tried really hard to reduce my carbs and my sugars have dropped dramatically - down to 6.5 yesterday - which is a vast improvement for me.
I'm researching all I can about low carb diets/menus and am determined to give it a go - what have I got to lose? (Except some weight hopefully - LOL)
I'm so glad I found this forum!
