Managing blood sugar with alcohol

If your blood sugar is swinging that crazily WITHOUT alcohol, I don't advise drinking a poison that could send it way up or way down or both is a wry small timeframe... I used to be immune to alcohol. Now it can send me through the floor and I will wake up nearing 20 like you.

Was out for a Monday afternoon summer day pub crawl with friends yesterday and ended up consuming 7pints of various real ales all at between 4.5 and 5.2 abv, albeit over a fairly extended length of time, along with a couple of pints of soda and lime.

BG was 6.1 when I went to bed, and exactly the same again when I woke up at 7am this morning. I rarely find a big effect on my BG provided I stay away from the bottled alcopop ciders such as Magners - the local 8.2% farm ciders seem to be fine, but can't manage too many of those anyway.
