i have had problems in the past with inserting cannulas and giving injections and recently I have had trouble overcoming the metal block of inserting my mio cannula. Just wondering if u could manually insert it instead of using the inserter provided? Sorry if this sounds confusing :S

Hey @Hollipop0014 This question is best directed to the medtronic helpline, I tried once manually inserting a mio and failed, it's honestly not worth even attempting it as the consequences can take a day to recover from. Personally I find the mio the easiest infusion set change ever, no pain whatsoever, no discomfort, I was even pressing it in myself once i'd loaded the cannula to make sure it had stuck but after speaking to my nurse I found out this was completely unnecessary. Please persevere if you can or look away and hum a tune, over before you know it ;)

I used the quickset for a bit but didn't get on with it for various reasons. Try some of the other sets. The silhouette can be inserted manually and doesn't need an inserter. Nor does the sure-t which is the steel one. If the issue is pain, try numbing the site first with an ice pack. My parents used to do to this with me with ice cubes when I was a child and it helped in the beginning with the silhouette which is a rather daunting needle.
