Manufacturer stopping making Bydureon?

Has anyone else had trouble trying to get hold of bydureon weekly injections? Recently I had problems getting the injection so had to get my GP to prescribe the pen instead as a one off. I had my annual check last week and obtained my monthly prescription, which I took to the local pharmacy. They did not have Bydureon in stock and tried to contact their usual supplier, with no luck. The pharmacist contacted the manufacturers directly (AstraZeneca) and has been told that they plan to stop manufacturing both the injection and pen from June. I was surprised that neither the Practice Nurse or GP were aware of this.

Anyone else heard this?

Nellgwyn, hi there I don't use this myself but looked on manufacturers web site doesn't say anything about being discontinued I did notice a member posted about this same item last year if I were you I'd just give maker a ring to see whats going on all the best.
