Why is marigold bouillon the recommended drink for salt? Is this better than bovril? Need to get back to low carbing but want to make sure I have everything in place first so that I dont get cramps at night. These are what stop me low carbing every time. I dont sleep well at the best of times and suffering with leg cramps as well, dont know why I even bother going to bed some nights.

Also, where is the best place to buy it? Thanks.

I prefer Bovril or home made bone broth - I think its just a question of what you prefer. The bone broth is lovely but takes a long while to make. Beef Bovril reminds me of visits to the swimming pool when I was a little girl....

@Brunneria pointed out to me once that Chicken Bovril has got MSG in it so probably best to be avoided.

A few people regularly enjoy it (on the 'what have you eaten today thread'). :)
oh ok thanks for that tip.. I get the Kallo brand cubes for emergencies but I think they are both available in most supermarkets
Tesco and Sainsburys as well as Waitrose seem to have it.

Thanks @Chook
Yes, always worth checking the ingredients. :)

I discovered (in one of my obsessive label reading phases) that Bovril ingredient labels have different listings depending where in the world the Bovril is sold. So in the UK, the beef one is MSG free, while the chicken one has MSG. At the time I was looking, different countries' Bovrils had different recipes, so you can buy chicken without MSG in other places...

It was a while a go, so I don't know if things have changed, but basically Always Read The Label! :D

I don't drink the Marigold Bouillon - I just use it as my "go to" veggie stock.
It is available with the stock cubes and gravy granules in most supermarkets - I have bought it in Sainsburys, Waitrose and Morrisons.
