Mash Potato

My ex-mother-in-law used to make up Smash when her hubby & family were working on Saturday mornings and then borrow potato peelings from next door to put in the bin. Her hubby never twigged - but always said he hated Smash and would never allow them in the house.

Good one

Where would the extra 11g of carbs come from, the milk Lactose? would the cream not fix that.oh and the 100g sachet makes 4 servings.

The figure of 12.9 percent is per prepared product.
The 600 gms (four servings of 150 gms each) has the 12.9 percentage. Hence 12.9 x 150/100 gives 19.3 per the side of the packet.

If no extra carbs were added during the preparation (they are of course, but just for illustration - humour me :D ) the side of the packet would give the number of grams (per 100 gms of unprepared product) as 77 !

No problem at 19.5 gms of carbs per portion if you can restrict yourself to that. Are there three others sharing your mash ?
But too wasteful if you're looking to restrict carbs. An occasional treat, maybe.

Geoff (hoping I've made myself understandable, above :D )

I have 4 hungry vultures waiting in the wings not including the Dog who is always circling, I'm lucky if I get 3 table spoon full's and that is not including the wife.

I can rest easy then. Didn't want you being tempted by more than your 'share' :D

p.s. I raised two female eaglets. Now they've flown the nest, meal-time is so much easier

You can rest easy, My 4 cubs at 7, 12, 14, 17 make a rampaging swarm of locust look like lightweights, Even when I buy my low carb stuff it goes before I can get to it, 1/2lb cheese gone in the blink of an eye. I got some Vanilla protein mix £18 a tub so I could miss the odd meal, and there they were making milk shakes out of it in smoothie maker, little blighter's.

BRILLIANT, thank you for that :D

The mash potato went down well with 2 of the rescued baby Robins and it was real mash  they didn't really want the worms we dug up

Errr well, I have just boiled the kettle to fill a hot water bottle for them, to go under the box so they dont get too cold during the night. Bless them, they are asleep tucked up in their grass duvets and so cute and helpless
