Maximal tolerated therapy

I have seen this today on my NHS notes from my Dr so my question is what does maximal tolerated therapy for diabetes mean thank u for any replies
From what I gather it means you're on the maximum dosage of whatever med you're on, that you can be safely given. (Without getting things like hypo's or other dangerous issues).

Typically maximum dose for that medication

Can also be applied if you can tolerate a small dose but have side effects if increased

It’s basically just a note not to increase the dose

G'day Hen, and welcome to the forum. :)

Maximal tolerated therapy can be defined as the
highest quantity of a medication that can be given
without bringing about hypoglycemic disturbances.
