An awful lot.
Hope the following question makes sense.

Is there any maximum or maybe l should say minimum ideal amount your blood should rise by/meal.

I am trying to work out my lunch time meal, seems whatever l eat l go from something around the pre around 5.2/5.3/5.4 to 6.3 2hrs post (post always the same)

l know it isnt high just for me it is a 6+ and so l hate it and it is always 6.3 not 6 or 6.1 This got me wondering if you should try not to let your BG rise more than ?? points/meal

My evening meal l go from similar base to often only 5.6 or base 4.9 to 5.? (2hrs post)

Having posted this l will probably go through the roof or floor this lunch time o_O

MID – I think we all know the +2, 2 hours postprandial is the official line, but that's not your question, is it?

Like you, I have a bit of an aversion to larger numbers before to point sign, but I'm getting my head around getting my life onto a maintenance footing, whereby I'm not expecting or experiencing any great surprises, but also where I can eat simply, well and healthily, and be in a mainstream social environment without being labelled the food nutter. :)

I completely empathise with you MID, but for me, I began to wonder if I was looking to take control just a step too far. But, only you can decide where you are on the control spectrum and what impact that has on the life you and your partner want to live.

So, I think what I am saying is, would it be worthwhile considering a phase of maintenance with your diet? Carrying on with what you are doing, and see where that takes your numbers? I have read that sometimes in that phase, the numbers can drop a bit anyway, as one's body recovers from the carb onslaught of previous years, and the weight goes. As I understand it, you are likely to carry on losing weight, but might then achieve a really reliable core plan you can modify, when required, rather than continually tweaking without a period of monitoring and review? You would still be testing, so would identify a developing trend, in either direction?
