Hi Dr just rang to say some other tests have come back and the GAD one has come back showing the antibodies, but another one has come back negative? So been referred to diabetic clinic. He didn't quote any figures as he didn't know..

What now? Anyone got any input as to what the other test was ? Would explain why my bloods seemed to have normalised however now I'm even more confused.. lol

Hi and welcome. The other test was probably a c-peptide which measures the insulin you are producing. As your blood suagr has now come into a good area it wouldn't be a surprise if a c-peptide result was OK. The GAD result implies that you are a slow late onset T1 which I suspect the GP/Clinic may confirm? I also suspect the Gliclazide and the good diet have helped a lot. Late onset T1 proceeds at widely varying rates but it's possible one day you may need more tablets or even insulin. See what the GP/clinic say and come back with any questions. I'm guessing in all of the above but it's based on my own experience and that of many others on the forum.

Thanks for the reply ,that was my thoughts on reading I came off the gliclazide after a few days as it was making me hypo only on 1 metformin a day which I keep forgetting to take ... But my bloods have been back in the normal range since a few days after diagnosis .
Bugs me when you only get have the story ahh well wait and see
