Good evening,

My mum developed Type 1 diabetes when she was pregnant 30 years ago and it never went away. She is now 66 and her health is a concern. She is hypo/hyper unaware after many years of mid-management with large swings in sugar. She has an appointment letter for and MC task and blood test and wondered what this is for? From reading my thoughts are around cognitive function but can’t see much about it. Any help would be appreciated

Hi @Fishsteph and welcome to the forums.
My google fu is failing me here

multiple choice
motor coordination

Hopefully someone will come back with something but failing that I suggest you phone whoever sent you the letter and ask. It's not unreasonable to want to know what test she is having in advance.

And as regards the hypo/hyper unawareness does she have a libre or dexcom? (My hypo symptoms are not as good as they used to be and my cgm both warns me about hypos and helps me maintain/restore my awareness).
