Hi ,i've just been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and have decided to monitor my glucose levels before and after meals. My problem is I usually have 2. slices of toast for breakfast then porridge with yogurt, apple pear and grapes about 2 hours later.this keeps me going for another 2 or 3 hours when i have a sandwich then dinner about 4 hours later and finally I have toast and cheese before bed. i have been given no advice on any changes i need to make to my diet and don't know where to start.

Ho Liam, good idea to test . you will soon find out that what you ate eating will be doing you no good whatsoever. All the so called healthy eating will be turned on its head. Someone will be along soon to give you links to good sites. Carbs you will find will raise your levels. Oh and welcome to the forum, its one of the best.

Hi and welcome. Others will be better at giving you various website links but as Danemc has said you must reduce your carb intake and replace with proteins and fats.If you have porridge only have a small portion and cold as muesli. Watch out for added sugar in yogurts.
