Diabetes!! People who dont understand. Being overweight and hungry.
I am thinking about trying alternatives like Quorn, I have tried the Quorn mini eggs and they were quite nice, but I dont know if diabetes wise, they are a good idea. What do you more knowing people think?

Why are you wanting to try meat alternatives? I'm vegetarian but I avoid them only because they seem to taste so vile, also when I became veggie I wasn't going to substitute the real thing for fake.

Just check the carb content of the Quorn products and make sure you can handle them bg wise, my wife ate these when she was on a SW diet and some were rather nice! :)

Thank you both.
I just want to try ideas on how to get a varied diet.
Also I like spag bol and know beef isnt so good, (neither is the spaghetti for that matter) but anyway I wanted to try the mince to see if I could use that instead.

I use the Quorn mince quite a lot I tend to mix it with the real stuff... Quorn is higher in carbohydrate than 'meat' so if you are ULC then its not something that you will be able to incorporate easily into your meals... however if you are low carbohydrate and trying to minimise fat... then Quorn is pretty good because its reasonably low fat but high protein.. It's a really good product if your looking at doing 100 - 150g carbohydrate a day.. but trying not to replace all the lost carbohydrate calories with fats..

I was told not to have beef by the nurse, but its one thing I do like to eat, so yes its the red meat angle.
