Meat

In my personal opinion.
Meat has contributed to my health along with fresh vegetables and the odd bits of other food that contribute to my balance, that has improved my personal health so much!
If I couldn't eat meat, my life would not be worth living!
But as my intake of food has dropped dramatically in the past couple of years, the amount of meat initially rose, then dropped because I don't need to eat as much.

Meat in moderation is brilliant for you!
As is much in life!

I enjoy meat now (I was vegetarian for a number of years) but if I eat too much I get constipated and can get tummy cramps so, for me, a lot of meat doesn't seem to be healthy and it seems to stay in my digestive system much longer than a mixed diet.

I don't think we've evolved much beyond our hunter gatherer ancestors in the way we digest our food so if I didn't need to follow a low carb way of eating I think I would join my husband on his Paleo diet which seems seems to be a very healthy way to eat.

As someone else said - moderation in everything.
