medical advice please

Hi I am newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes I am on metformin 1000mg twice a day I have had a few side affects but they seemed to of got better.I need advice now however as the past few days I have had bad low abdomen pain enough to take my breath away and last evening dispite it being 26degrees I was sat under a blanket cold with goosebumps.I feel generally tired with no energy but have also noticed my sugar levels are up slightyI was around 6mmols on waking now it 7mmols.Please advice I have contacted my diabetic nurse and am awaiting a call back.
 
We can't really give you medical advice. If you feel bad, I suggest you see your GP, or ring NHS direct for advice, telling them about your medication.

Have you recently started to low carb? Your symptoms resemble Atkins flu, where the body is changing and getting used to fewer carbs? If that is the case it will pass in a few days and you will feel tons better, and have loads of energy, if not, then as Grazer suggests, see your GP.
 
Hi. Is it possible that it's the Metformin causing bowel problems? If you are not on the SR version, then do ask for it as it may help. Obviously you need to discuss your symptoms anyway with the doc.
