Medical check up for new job

In fact I did post on this subject in a wrong forum title earlier , may be this one is the right one to share views on this.
Can anybody tell me whether someone had any experience of being considered medically unfit for a job as being a diabetic patient T2 (non insulin type) like me . My readings are in the range of 7s in the morning ,A1C (last Sept was 7.2%) . I am expecting a medical screening sometimes in 2 weeks from now for a new employment that requires managing/handling stress at the workplace due to various reasons.
 
does your job involve some kind of health risk or the use of dangerous equipment..........?

if not, I don't see why type 2 diabetes or type 1 in fact would impact on your ability.......

I would say a lot of jobs are stressful......
 
No, my job does not possess the risk of handling dangerous equipment .
I do nt think that my condition of T2 anyway can affect my job, but the employer wants a thorough medical check up done that includes Blood sugar ,Cholesterol numbers as well as results of ECG, Xray, urine test etc.....
I am asking did any one of the forum members experience similar situation where all blood/urine reports were review d before issuing appointment letters.

Some larger employers (like the NHS, I believe), will make contingent offers, subject to satisfactory additional information, like references and medicals, where applicable. Most smaller employers just don't have the resources for that sort of thing.

That's quite a screening they expect you to have. Are you going in at Exec, Senior Management level or will you be a critical path SME??
 
I've just looked at your profile. Will the job be based in Canada, or is travel involved? if there is travel involved, they are probably complying with the terms of their insurers (even if the government self-insures).

The employment is with United Nations in Africa .Yes, the position is at senior management level . For your information , independent of the position /level of responsibilities the organization like UN or International Civil service Commission has mandatory medical check up formalities that include Blood and Urine test reports and so on...
My question is whether a Type 2 (like me with fasting blood sugar level Av 7.00 -7.5) HbA1C (Sept 14 , 7.2%) can be considered unfit for the employment on medical ground ? If there is any risk, can you advise what measures can be taken to get the acceptable readings on the day of test.
