With the current state of the NHS I'm seriously considering private medical insurance. Has anyone experience with this, and who offers the best cover for a type 1 diabetic?

I have private health insurance as a family through my husbands work, we all have pre-existing conditions and none of those are covered or anything new arising from them for instance my son has autism and developed PTSD we tried to get private counselling through the insurance but they deemed it to have arisen because of his autism so refused approval. I don’t think paying for PMI is worth it if you aren’t fit as a biddy to begin with as they will always try and pin it to any pre existing conditions

I believe some insurance companies may cover you for certain pre-existing conditions after a waiting period. (I had a T1 friend in Australia whose company paid for his pump but not his sensors. This was a few years back, so before any governments paid for cgms.)

Not quite your question, but given the cost of private insurance now, it might be more cost-effective to squirrel away the equivalent monthly fee in a savings account.
