Medication concern

Hi,
I am having problems with my glucose levels they are averaging 7.7. I cannot tolerate metformin and am on 2 x Gliclazide 80mg twice a day and 1 x Sitagliptin a day. My diabetes nurse has suggested that if the levels do not improve I should consider Victoza in addition to my other medication but I am worried about combining all three medications. Has anyone any experience of this combination? I would be grateful for any info.

Hi littlemo
Yes I was on 3 x 500mg metformin a day but bgl constantly stayed on the high teens low to mid20s so I was put on it and tbh I'd did nothing for me except cause lumps under the injection sites so they moved me on to insulin fast acting and overnight not been on it long still working at lowering my bs but wow I think your levels are pretty good can't you just stick with the metformin? Oh and welcome :)

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I thought myself that my levels were OK but my diabetic nurse wants me to get my levels lower. I feel quite well at the moment with no hypos, I am wondering if she is being over cautious and I am rather reluctant to start on Victoza.
