I wonder if anyone can shed any light on my confusion before I see my GP later this week.
I am currently a T2 Diabetic, 34 years old, been medicated for c.4years. Currently on:
- Saxagliptin: 5mg daily
- Pioliglitizone: 45mg daily
- Gliclazide: 80mg daily (very recently reduced from 80mg twice per day)
So, I recently had my Gliclazide reduced by half, as I was having hypo symptoms, i.e. blood at 4mmol within 1 hour of eating, and being sweaty etc.
This continued, and so over the weekend just gone, I decided to try a couple of medication free days - i.e. none at all - as I was at home, and able to monitor blood sugar etc - and should it go high, or low, take corrective measures etc.
Strange thing, this is the third day medication free, and I seem to be resting at around 6mmol two hours after food - and 5mmol of a morning - and I though my medication would have had significantly more effect.
I am going to seek help from my Medical Practitioner - but I would have thought the effect would be more dramatic?
