Help! Diagnosed type3 about four months ago now. Due to other health issues I am having problems finding suitable medication. Metformin triggers my diverticulitis for example, one made me put on half a stone in just over six weeks & another gave me such severe heartburn I couldn’t cope! Does anyone else have issues like this? I just want to find something that will help me to get control of this so I can hopefully just need diet. I really hope someone can advise. I will be going to the diabetic clinic next week so it would be great to go armed with options. Thanks in advance from a first time poster.

Hi, yes I’ve currently cut my carbs but whilst in hospital recently my blood sugars were measuring 15-16 after food. I’m still trying to get the hang of all of this but I’ve been advised to go onto meds as due to other health issues my diet can’t help alone.
