meds and type 2

Hi, I wondered if anyone could give a little advice? I am on my second chest infection/cold/flu since Xmas and GP put me on 5 day course Doxycycline,which I completed. Followed by another 7 day course of antibiotic/steroids Prednisolone 20mg and a Ventolin Inhaler + usual metformin 1000mg, Pioglitazone 15mg. My question is my BG has gone from 5.2 - 7 right up to 14 could this be due to meds? Really feel rough (being Sicky) with it too but what can I do? :thumbdown:
 
Hi,
My sister who is type1 tells me that every time she has an infection of any sort her sugar levels shoot up and it is really difficult to control them.
Not sure whether this helps
