Meds/Diet/Exercise: still high glucose levels

Hi Im on Metformin 500 X 3 since January 15th and it's having no effect on my glucose levels which range from 9.6 to 13.8. I excercise 1 hour daily and have a healthy diet. I do have a few pints of Guinness every evening but thats it. Any advice?

How many carbs a day are you having?
Could you give us an idea of a typical day's meals? We might be able to help a bit more then.

I dont count my carbs :S but I eat a low carb high fibre diet and am not overweight

If you don't count, how do you know your dieet is low carb?
By low carb, what amount do you mean. My Very Low Carb Diet is around 30 - 50 per day. I've seen literature where 200 was called low carb, which I doubt anyone on this forum would agree to be so.

Give up the few pints of Guinness every evening, it's worse than pasta, potatoes or rice. Have a spirit with a diet mixer, no more good for you, but your sugars won't rise so much.
