My daughter has a Medtronic 780g pump and is on her 6th day of smartguard. She had the pump on manual mode for a week before that and we loved it. Similar to injections but an improvement. Since smartguard has been turned on her levels have increased from 7 to 8.5 and her ratios are much stronger and still not working. I have read a lot of information and understand why this is and how the algorithm collects data. I also know the different settings that we can change over time and will work on those over the coming weeks.
I would like to know if anyone has any experience of the early weeks of smartguard? Did you find it frustrating, a step back, wondering if it would really start to correct properly?
We are a family that will correct highs before they get high and now feel we have lost that control. Is it worth staying on the pump?
I don’t need feedback about the g4 sensor as that isn’t an issue so far. Just the algorithm
