Sorry for taking so long to reply.I couldn't get back onto the site forgot passwordCould you give us an idea of what you were eating before the all egg diet you find yourself on now, a typical day's menu.
It would help you to know your blood test results. You can ask to be put on the register for online access to your results at your surgery, this is a service that all GP Practices should be providing now. If not, you are entitled to a print out of your results at no charge. Do not let a receptionist fob you off by saying 'we don't do that here' or, as was said to me 'what do you need to know for?'.
That really is a terrible situation to be in. All I can suggest is that you either change Practices or just keep plugging away at your GP telling him of your readings and asking for the tests for LADA.Sorry for taking so long to reply.I couldn't get back onto the site forgot passwordbeen diabetic for over ten years I did not know you can ask for access to your blood results for glucose levels. To be honest you really cannot communicate with anyone at brechin health centre. Its in such a dire way that Tayside nhs have taken over managing it.Its worse. They make you feel a nuisance more than a patient. If you get the dreaded there is no agents to take your callthat's peculiar.Im thinking of changing docs going elsewhere. So I'm still no further forward my diet before eggs which are making me like now was low carb diet no bread pastas or anything that would make my sugars rise I'm sitting at 12 to 18 I can wake up next morning sugars are 15 that is nothing to eat from the night before which is around t time.im on glizomide 2 times a day and one alogliptin and it's not made a jot of difference.Nurse said waiting list is 3 months for specialistbeen like this for near a year.
Aye, lass. The cuts have really bitten and services are just so overstretched. Good idea to go to a walk in centre, we do not have one in my small town. You can ask for a printout of all your last results, they are obliged to let you have a print out if the on line service is something you have no access to. Fingers crossed that you get some positive action. Thanks for the info ill be on phone tomorrow to the Diabetic walk in clinic in Dundee tomorrow too ask for results over the phone you just can't get too speak or see a doctor here in Brechin.Last time I had to phone Dundee main diabetic place as hasn't been seen here for 16 months.NHS is in a bit of a mess isn't it.
We are same here in this wee town I would have to travel an hour into Dundee walk in but can fone them.Phone them in morning and ask for advice and ask for email with my results.Tbh I have been diabetic over ten years and never knew I could ask for results.Doc said I am being referred to a secondary doctor at the hospital which could take over 3 months.Gosh it's a worry as how much damage is being done when sugar readings have never been under 12 in months. Its great shame the way the NHS has gone.thanks for advice and I feel a bit daft really not knowing I could have asked for results but I kept my diabeties under control over ten years and never let it bother me till now.Must be my old age brain lol
When I mentioned to gp over phone about my doubt about a diabetic medz they gave me which made me ill and that I was going too join Diabeties UK she was very dismissive and told me haven't I got better things to do than thatNot daft at all. I had no idea of this before I joined this forum. The thing that is important about the numbers is that you can learn to look for trends going the wrong way and do something about it and you can work to a target range but only if you know where you are starting from.
I have learned so much from the members here about all kinds of blood tests and numbers to aim for, this place is a gold mine.
We do hear of new members actually being advised to join this forum by GPs and Diabetic Specialist Nurses, not often but happening more and more.
