hi all,

I have seen that there is a meet up every few months in London, with fellow diabetics , and was just wondering if there is any meetings in the Manchester area, if not is it worth starting one, what do you think ?

You could always see who is interested @Padders91 Are you going to limit attendance to Type1s only?

Keep bumping your post up for replies.

I think @anna29 did mention organising a meet in Lancashire a few months ago.
It went very quiet when I expressed an interest!
:hilarious::hilarious:

I'm in Stoke-on-Trent so can easily do Manchester rather than London..

I'm from Manchester too!! I tried to organise a meet up on this forum but I think I posted in wrong section.
would you rather have an open meeting or a type 1/ type 2 meeting?
I am type one

Thanks for the reply,s everyone, I was thinking mainly type 1,s but I don't really mind if I am honest, more the merrier, was thinking in Manchester because I already know there was meet ups in London and just wanted somewhere bit closer to home, let me know if anyone would be interested so we can set up date and time etc.

I am interested I hope some others take interest too as it would be cool if there is a fair few peeps

I am type 1 and interested to meet up! I'm away all of August though... o_O

I'm a newbie living in South Manchester, so I'd be very interested to meet others in the area.

(Type 3c, treated as T1.)

If any members wish to meet up in Preston Lancs .
I am more than happy to start the ball rolling .
Any one or type can come along - the more the merrier :)

No - one else showed an interest .
Hence my post above .

Hi @Padders91

Is it time to propose a date/time and venue so we can add this to our diaries?

I know teacher123 (and others) found it difficult to meet in August, but if you suggest a date, the number of attendees may increase. If not, there's a couple of us to meet for a drink/coffee/tea etc.

(I'd make the suggestion, but don't want to steal your thunder!)

I was wondering what happened to this idea. Is it in the day that everyone wants to do it (I would prefer it, but understandably people work too)

Hi Bumblebee95

The recent London meetings have been on Saturdays, presumably for convenience. I work Mon-Fri, but could get time off with sufficient notice.

I imagine Teacher123 can't attend a weekday meeting.

(Venues will probably be quieter during the week.)

It'll be interesting to learn what Padders91 had in mind.

Yes @Ledzeptt Mon-Fri is out of the question for me but hopefully we can sort something out that suits the majority of people interested :)

I'd be up for whenever (currently just graduated and unemployed so free all the time :P), and I'm definitely closer to Manchester than London, so sounds good :)

I propose Saturday 5th Sept.

It's two weekends away and neither United or City are playing at home (Utd are playing on the 12th).

(I'm guessing @Padders61 is still on hol, so hasn't suggested a date.)

I don't have a specific idea for a time or venue. Afternoon may suit most people, particularly those travelling from afar. A coffee/tea house in the Northern Quarter (around Oldham St/Swan St) may be quieter, but still convenient for all.

What do you all think?

Hi all, sorry I haven't been on for a few days so apologies for the late reply, I was thinking weekends lezeptt, as I know it will be inconvient during the week, the 5th sounds like a good idea that lezeptt as I am a city fan so would suit, do we all agree to have the venue in Manchester, if so all that needs to e confirmed is the time, what time suits most of you guys/girls,sorry and venue
