Hi,

Infrequently post on this forum, but find myself coming back to it.

I was wondering how everyone is feeling? Whether that be with diabetes or in general life.

I find that mental health and diabetes is often overlooked outside the general (burnout / unstable sugars) and there's a real lack of support or understanding

Please share any advice you may have or things that have personally helped

This time of year is just flat-out depressing anyway, and once upon a time my mood would shift in October and stay down until March or April. My personal plan is to get outside as much as possible, even in the rain and cold, and tire myself out if I can. That means better sleep, and better sleep is a big thing for me.

I try to see people (people I like) and to always have something to look forward to, not always possible.

needlephobia fairly common effects 1 in 10 to various degrees. diazepan can help a little for that. i'm pretty bad with it. this is one of the resources which was given, trying to find online version (as personal files not allowed) so can't take imgs of section on the phobia itself which was given to me by primary care counsellers.

located moodjuice guide on nhs website which was given to me in print format can help a little with anxiety: https://oxfordhealth.nhs.uk/wp-content/uploads/sites/13/2023/01/Anxiety-moodjuice-guide.pdf

best bit of advice is be truthful with healthcare team, letting them hear what you think they perhaps wan't to doesnt do anyone any favours. don't be afraid to speak up if disagree :)

how are you feeling yourself? im not too bad at the moment type1 honeymoon so thankfully not needing to inject at the moment although i did for several months after initially was diagnosed.
