Thanks for that interesting link, Catherine. Nice to know I'm not the only one.

Me too, Totsy. Isn't it hard to get DSN's/doctors to understand that? Wish I could've waved this report under the nose of a previous GP, who was adamant I must increase my insulin dose during menstruation, despite the evidence I went hypo with even 1 unit (instead of my usual 3-4) injected at lunchtime.

That is interesting!

I was researching this only yesterday, as my blood glucose levels have been all over the place (but mainly very low) for the last few days. Up until last weekend, I hadn't had a period since November (just before I was diagnosed) and thought that the menopause had finally arrived, perhaps spurred on by diabetes. But it may just have been a temporary pause due to the weight loss before diagnosis.

I may have to switch to a novorapid pen that is capable of delivering half units, as a whole unit is too much at breakfast time (dropping me to 3.6 these last few days, and that's after eating a big bowl of porridge and a small orange juice).

Honeymooning and menstruating at the same time certainly makes life interesting.

Sorry if that was more information than anyone needed to know

Humapen HD and Novopen Junior do half-unit steps, but the minimum dose is 1 full unit. Not sure if there are any pens that can do half a unit on its own - maybe someone here has such a pen?
