Prediabetes Meters

I have been diagnosed prediabetic. Should I monitor my glucose levels with a meter ( any recommendations?)
 
@KMALIPHANT Well I would if I where you. The meter I use is the CodeFree as it is is fairly inexpensive to buy and the test srips are inexpensive also.

Many of us on here use the Codefree because although meters aren't particularly expensive and some are given away free, but the test strips can be extremely costly. The Codefree ones are about the cheapest. You will need a lot of test strips, so be very careful when you look at meters - check out the cost of replacement strips before you buy.

@ElkBond uses the Accu Chek Mobile, but being a Type 1 will get strips on prescription. You won't. The AC Mobile strips retail at £25 for 50. The Codefree are just over £5 for 50. The choice is yours, of course!

Ahh yes you are correct, I get them on prescription but regardless of the meter I would recommend the lancet tool (fastclix) as it is so user friendly and far less painful that the standard one I was given.

6 lancets in a drum (you choose when to move to the next one so repeated use is possible but not recommended by them) and the drum can be thrown in a normal bin as no needles are ever exposed.
