Not a subject i really want to bring up but, since last august i started with shoulder pain, which turned out to be frozen shoulder, at the time i was only taking metformin, and went to the loo very easily most if not almost every morning, which i didnt mind as usually before metformin i could go almost a week without going.....then i got prescribed co codamol which can make you constipated, so this stopped the morning loo trip......but for the last couple of weeks i have not had any co codamol due to not getting in at the drs, plus a few months ago was given alogliptin along side my metformin and they have brought my levels down really well......so to get to the main question, for the last 2 weeks i have been 'going' all the time, loosely, various times a day, could this be both the meds causing this with me not having the co codamol, i do keep meaning to go to the drs, but never seem to get round to ringing.
Sorry for the drawn out post.....i will make an appointment as really need the co codamol so will mention this then, in the mean time i wondered if the meds have the same affect on anyone else?

I'm only guessing, but I would think it's the metformin, as it is more likely to cause the troubles you are having. Gliptins don't usually cause them.
Have you noticed that cocodimol raises your blood glucose levels as my endocrinologist has told me to take only paracetamol for pain. Due to blood levels!

thanks for the reply, i was never this bad before on just the metformin, hence why i wondered if it could be both of them thats made me worse, As for the raising of the levals i have no idea as i have never tested, i have also had 2 cortisone injections which i also believe can have an effect of the blood levels, but like i say never tested, bit of a wuss, dont want to prick my finger :-(
