I take 2 pills per day metformin 1,000 g. I also take glipermide 4g a day. I am 8 months in and bs is controlled. My issue is weight loss. I am unable to lose weight because will power is very poor. I love desserts and struggle with all the great desserts I love to make. As long as I take my meds my bs stays low, especially fasting. I sometimes go low over night and my Endo had me cut my night pill in half. My Endo wants me at 100 carbs per day but have not been able to go that low in months. I was able for a few months after diagnosis but only because sick and unable to eat. Now I am starving all the time so my weight loss came back. Is there a trick to losing weight without feeling constant hunger?

My original post was to ask if I am good one day with low carbs should I still take meds? But say one day carbs are low but next day carbs are high can I choose meds on days carbs are high but not take meds when I am in control more with low carb eating?

No one here is able to offer medical advice. If you wish to adjust your medication dosing then you would be well advised to seek support from your doctor. But I will say that, in my opinion, adjusting dosage “on the fly” as it were, in order to allow you to eat more of what you want, is probably less than optimal.
