I was diagnosed to be diabetic just 10 days back and was given Metformin (Glyciphaze) 500 mg twice a day(to be taken 1+1/2+1/2 three times in a day).

I felt dizziness and nausea initially. Read some ones suggestion on this forum to take the medicine after 15 minutes of BF/LUNCH/DINNER and to avoid Vegetables and Vitamin B along with Metformin initially and eat something every 2 hours..followed the suggestions and all these worked for me.

However I just noticed some swelling around my ankle today.

Does some know about it or have experienced such swelling while starting Type 2 medication with Metformin?

My Ultrasound and KFT (kidney functional test) done last week shows everything absolutely okay with Kidneys.

Please talk to your Dr about your swollen ankle, there are many things it could be due to .. best to get it looked at by the medics.
