Diagnosed in February with HBA1C of 69.
Put on metformin 2 a day to up to 3 a day after a week.
Retested and was down to 46 in April.
Told to stay on metformin.
Had a horrendous few months with sick family, members in hospital, family needing radiation etc which meant I didn’t look after myself well, missed tablets, was taking them when I remembered etc so I missed more than a few doses and wasn’t consistent.
Tested on august and was still at 46.
Started taking my metformin at breakfast and lunch for the last 3 days and have been feeling a bit unsteady since.
Eating regularly, trying to make sensible decisions although I just learnt that shredded wheat dose not like me today.
Tested bloods today and besides the breakfast mess up I’ve been between 5.9 and 7.9 2hrs after meals.

Since I started taking it a few days ago I have felt a little unsteady.
Cut down coffee to twice a day maximum (one for breakfast, one mid afternoon if that)
Started drinking more water today as forgot that dehydration is a thing when your taking them and coffee/tea only makes matters worse.

Has anyone else had this experience? Feel fine every other way bar a few sudden toilet trips but o expected that.

Getting below 8 after eating was when things started to change for me - things began to return to normal. It might be that after having high glucose your brain is a bit peeved to be denied it's nice sugary bath and you are having false hypos. Normally a drink and a tiny amount of carbs will stop the wobble - I found that three grapes did the trick, but after a few days, they stopped and I was find from then on.
