Hi , I was classed as T2 last year.

for the past 6 months , I have watched as my levels got worse and worse no matter how much I adjusted my diet. So lately as my levels have been often over 13, ive been monitoring my urine ketones ( because im nothing if not thorough, plus my dad is a type 1). My Doctor started me on metformin during the week which has been going well . My levels seem more steady which is fab however ..my ketones are getting worse between ++ and +++ . Has anyone ever had this ?

Are you on a very low carb diet?

Have you been tested for type 1? I think you'd better contact your doctor to ask for advice.

Can you give an example of what you have for meals?
Pringles and high carb foods definitely won't be helping you.

I’m T2 and I was told 3 readings over 13 and high keytones to contact GP or out of hours service
