Metformin and ketosis

Hi, im a type 1 diabetic, I'm taking Metformin XR 1000mg. My macros are split 5%carbs 25% protein 70% fat. I'm trying to get into ketosis with atkins type diet.
I am struggling to get above 0.4 on the ketone blood meter. Is this because of the Metformin?
Should I stop the Metformin or do I need an increase?
 
You are in ketosis and don't have excess because you are burning them as energy. With 5% carb it's impossible not to be in ketosis after a short time
There are other t1 ketogenic diet here that you need to talk to because they bolus for 50% of their protein

The met won't change your ketone reading, but does inhibit liver dumping. So you may need to be more hypo alert ?
I'm t2 LC and take my metformin for insulin resistance

The protein percentage might be a little high. Try doing 5% 20% 75%.

My ketones are normally around 0.5-1.5 but mostly around the 0.5-0.8 mark.
 
Ok that helps. I think I'm getting low enough protein.
90g a day(360kcal), but not enough fat as I'm getting 90g of that also(810 kcal)
I'm getting 20g carbs.
Does that not seem wrong ratio?
 
Grams of protein... So like one chicken thigh is 20g protein. 4 pork ribs are 20g. Lol seems like a fat fast I'm getting into now, which might be what I need with my metabolic resistance

B:
2 eggs w/ 10g Parmesan
2 back bacon rashers
Mushrooms and 1 tomato
10g butter
L:
Chicken thigh with 20g goats cheese and streaky bacon rasher wrapped around with green salad and 1tbsp of mayo
D:
4 tesco pork ribs
Green Salad and 1tbsp mayo with 30g mature cheese
 
Today:
B: Yoghurt and flaxseed. Protein 13g
L: Scrambled eggs (with cream and butter). Protein 16g
D: Beefburger with portobello mushroom, cauli and broccoli. Yoghurt and raspberries. Protein 43g
Snack: Bulletproof coffee (fat fest) with coconut oil and butter
