HI,

I AM TYPE TWO SINCE JULY 2010, AND LAST HBA1C WAS 6.1 RECENTLY, I HAVE A BROKEN ANKLE INJURY AND HAVE BEEN TESTING BG MORE FREQUENTLY. THE OTHER DAY IT WAS 14.1 THEN BACK TO 7.1 (LATER SAME DAY.) AV 7.00 EACH DAY

WHILST I WAS IN THE CLINIC FOR ANKLE INJURY, THE NURSE ASKED ME IF I WAS ON OTHER MEDS, AND I TOLD HER I AM TAKING VESICARE 10MG FOR UNSTABLE BLADDER FUNCTION, FLUOXETINE 10MG FOR A STRESS RELATED CONDITION,

THE NURSE TOLD ME THAT TAKING IBUPROFEN FOR PAIN RELIEF WOULD NOT BE A GOOD IDEA AS IT MAY REACT WITH THE METFORMIN. THIS GOT ME THINKING ABOUT THE OTHER MEDS I TAKE AND WONDERED IF THEY WERE SAFE TAKEN ALL TOGETHER EVERY DAY. i ALSO AM ON CPCAP TREATMENT FOR MILD SLEEP APNOEA SYNDROME.

AS EVER, IF ANYONE CAN OFFER THERE EXPERIENCES OR THOUGHTS I WOULD BE VERY GRATEFUL.

MANY THANKS,
FLY FISHER

Not sure about your meds but as well s startig metformin last week I am also taking naproxen, citlaopram, ompreazole, cocodamol30/500 and beconase. GP didnt mention any interactions with these. Maybe give your chemist a ring - they will of all people know best :D

Hi Denise, iggy-lil,

thanks very much for your replys to my questions you have helped put my mind at rest.

thanks so much,

No probs :D
I can remember the dentist prescribing antibiotics and when I went to the chemist (I try to use the same one so they know your meds) he told me that the type of antibiotics that I had been given would interact with the citlaopram. So the chemist rung dentist to change the antibiotics.

:D

My friend is a Pharmacist. She says that if you go into a pharmacy and ask, the Pharmacist will do a check for you for any possible interaction with your drugs. They just need a list of what drugs, dosage and frequency of taking them. If it is your regular pharmacy they may have your list already in their system
