I have been a diabetic 2 for more 30 yrs. I dont quite remember how long. I am currently on Metformin 1000 mg daily and was recently put on 0.25 of Ozemtic. I've wanted to stop taking Metformin but my Dr insists all the horrible things read about it is not true. My A1C had been climbing I was at 8.3 I'm due for labs in September. Last one was 7.9. I wish I could get off of all this meds. Has anyone tried Apollo CBD ******* or the sea weed tablets I don't remember that name. So many offering to help get rid of diabetes I know it sounds too good to be true.Im 70 yrs old I do have numb toes and tingling legs. My eyesight has gotten worse after covid. Itching etc. Everything is blamed on diabetes. I know this is long but feeling overwhelmed. Thank you.

Not long at all, and of course you're looking for solutions. Those tablets aren't going to help much though, if at all, sorry. CBD might make your liver dump a little less glucose, but it's not going to do anything about what you eat. And from the sound of it, your blood glucose has been high for a while, with the tingling (peripheral neuropathy, nerve damage) and the eyesight. I've needed different glasses since C19 myself, and it might or might not be connected to my diabetes, but who knows. My opticien certainly had no clue and didn't believe I went from +1 reading glasses to +2.25 since infection, until after he tested me. (Then I just got a shrug off him. Whatever, I know it changed practically overnight).

https://josekalsbeek.blogspot.com/2019/11/the-nutritional-thingy.html might help some. Look up the video's by Dr. Jason Fung on youtube, he got long term diabetics off of insulin with his dietary methods... I've been off metformin and gliclazide for quite a while now, am entering my 7th year with normal blood glucose numbers.

It can often be done, ditching medication I mean, but not usually with anything that's bottled. A change in diet however.... It made all the difference for me, and many people here. Keep in mind though, you might hypo when a low carb diet is combined with certain medication like ozempic, so you'll have to test a lot to stay on the safe side of things, and adjust medication as you go. And make changes gradually, not all at once, since neuropathy's already present, and eye issues too. Go too fast and it might make any damage worse rather than better. Also, are you on vitamin B12 supplements? If you've been on metformin for long, you could be deficient, which doesn't help with the nerve damage either. (It inhibits the uptake). Know what helps with nervedamage though? CBD oil. Just don't count on it for your blood sugars. But if your nerve endings need a little help, this might aid them in healing.

Keep asking questions. There's always something here with an answer.
Good luck!
Jo
