Good morning guys and gals, i'm new to the forum but have been type 2 diabetic for at least 7 years. (I can feel my wrists being slapped already) I've dodged the medication and i've only done this cos i wanted so badly to try and control this via diet and boy have i struggled. Its took me 3 years to loose only 2 stone - there is no consistency with my weight which is so frustrating especially when you follow the Slimming World Plan - so back to the Docs I went, cap in hand and have reluctantly said i would start to take the medication. My iron count was so low they said its a wonder i was not dead on my feet so including iron tablets i'm now on 9 tablets a day. I take 2 x BP tablets as well as 1 x Cholestral (at night) 2 x 1000mg Metformin, 3 x iron, 1 x 10mg dapaglifozin.

I managed to get myself into a good routine taking the tablets but struggling terrible with the metformin - they make me feel so sick . Does anybody else feel like this?

Thanks in advance.

Tracy

Lots of people have trouble with Metformin. It seems to make a good laxative or emetic. The usual advice on here is to make sure you have the slow release version and only ever take it with meals. If none of that helps and you have given it a fair chance then you might have to re-evaluate its usefulness to you and go back to your doctor or nurse with the problem.
