Metformin and upset stomach

Hi,
I have been on Metformin 1500mg SR which I take after food in the evening. However, in the last few days I have been getting an upset stomach and urgency in going to the toilet. It is watery, yellow and the metformin tablet is present.

I am not sure why this happens. I am also on Lipitor and have B12 injections every 3 months. I do take other medications.

Does anyone have any advice for me why this happens, Should I see my GP?

Hi. You will always see the remains of the Met SR in your stools, so that is normal. There could be another cause of the problem or a few people are intolerant of any form of Metformin.
