Hi. I continued Metformin when I went onto insulin as my DN said it had protective properties. It also does reduce blood sugar a bit and hence the insulin needs to be slightly less.

I am t1 and take metformin with my novarapid before every meal. It pushes the insulin to work harder and it has helped yo reduce my a1c
