Metformin in pregnancy

I took metformin in only one of my 2 pregnancies but I'm a mild suffered of PCOS.

Metformin taken pregnancy needed just as much insulin to keep bgs in acceptable levels.
I suffered more water retention but that could have been due to I was 6yrs older (42yrs old at time of birth).
