It does seem to make a difference for me - I got changed from brand Metformin SR to generic Sukkarto which has a different shellac coating. My digestive system seems to be quite slow and they didn't dissolve uniformly which made my numbers rise steadily over a couple of years. Also resulted in bouts of uncontrollable diarrhea, urgh. With renewed focus on LC (I was still eating LC but had a few more of the occasional slip ups in those past couple of years mainly because it didn't seem to matter what I did numbers were rising) and returned to non-shellac coated Metformin numbers are getting better. So what I take from that is that it helps but LC helps the most. And none of it is instant it builds over time.
