Have been on metformin for over two years. Now been upped to 1750 mg per day. Now getting sickness and diarrhoea. Anyone else suffer like this?

hi, yes i believe its quite common to get tummy problems, are you taking the slow release version? my daughter takes the sr version and it definitely seems to help with these side effects, if not it would be worth asking your doc if you could try them, good luck

Andy is spot on. Ask your doc for metformin SR, it's much gentler on the stomach. Good luck ! Mo

I also take Metformin, and I have found that from time to time, say one week in 6, I benefit from some probiotic yogurt. It just stabilizes me
