Hi

I am T2 and at my last assessment 1 month ago was at 54 whatevers taking 4x500mg Metformin per day. In the last year I have had problems with reduced mobility due to "ache verging on cramp" in my lower limbs. I have been in consultancy with both a Spinal and Anaesthetist specialities in connection with these symptoms. Having also had a full spinal MRI scan the only diagnosis is that I have a muscular deficiency in modus operandi in walking. I now follow a corrective walking plan that has somewhat improved my problem.

However today I feel I have virtually never had the problem!

The difference (maybe nothing to do with it) is that I have only taken 2X500 Metformin in last few days due to travel and Meal times.

Along with mobility problems have also been very tired from early afternoon onward. Today was motivated after lunch to clear some problem blocked gutters around house and then explore unobtrusive cooling mod to my classic car.

Will continue with reduced intake to 2 for next few days but then increase to 4 per day and see what happens.

Anyone else experienced these effects?

Regards

H

Well - I was not all that good on my legs at diagnosis - I was practically spherical, but I could walk around and go out of the house, however the aches and pains which developed over the next few weeks were memorable. I was almost immobile and spent days in the room next to the bathroom or actually in there so I just binned the Metformin and Atorvastatin and things did improve a lot very quickly - the muscles in my legs relaxed from the stretched rubber band state, but they had gone all feeble so I had to pull myself up the stairs, but after a while they regained some strength.
